Taken together a regal display in Victorian comfort. The wood-burning fireplace mantle as been converted to electric to comply with modern-day code and surface-mounted to preserve the original wall. The project began with a rusted mantle that was missing the firebox (insert) and surround - a prolonged search and some luck as I found an original surround while replacing the firebox with an imported electric Victorian-style heater.
Sandblasting and ceramic polycoat brings this fireplace back to “front and center”! For the wall plaque I custom-framed and antiqued a high-relief artwork which picks up important details and curvatures from the fireplace mantle to collectively embrace the wall in Victorian splendor.
